Moving Forward

How do I apply this experience?

Discovery Research has taught me skills that will benefit me in all my future endeavors. I have learned how to work with peers, particularly how to both give and receive constructive criticism. I have also learned how to think critically and how to address a problem. These skills are very important to almost every work environment. No matter which career path I decide to take, Discovery Research has given me resources that will be useful to my career.
In regard to my personal life, my research project has taught me to be aware of the effects of social media. Often, unknowingly, social media affects our opinions and beliefs. It is important to be aware and to stay informed.

Future Plans

For the rest of my time at University of Maryland, I intend to participate in more research. This class was a great experience and I would love to be an undergraduate researcher at some point. I would also like to do an internship before my graduation. University of Maryland offers many opportunities and it is important to make use of them to gain experience before I graduate. After graduation, I am very interested in continuing my study of both psychology and criminology/criminal justice. My long term goal would be to go to law school.
