How have I grown as a student?
As a student, my practicum has increased my research skills tremendously. I am now a better researcher and I have increased my knowledge on the research process. Discovery Research has guided me in the process to create a problem, research the problem, and present my findings. I was able to participate in a research community, where my work was constantly critiqued, which allowed me to learn how to use these critiques to move forward and better my project.
Research Presentation
I have chosen to include my research presentation because I feel it provides a great representation of how I have grown as both a student and a researcher. I started off with an area of interest and I was able to turn it into a problem with significance. It is easy to create a question, but it requires critical thinking to convey why this question matters. This presentation also shows how I was able to synthesize my findings, not only by reviewing literature but by creating and administering a survey. Lastly, it portrays how I analyzed the information I found and explained the limitations. All of these aspects of the research presentation are evidence of my growth as both a researcher and a student.
